Where Love Meets Understanding: Couple Therapy
Psychoanalytic • Object Relations • Reality-Oriented
Introduction
In couple therapy, I approach the relationship not as something to be “fixed,” but as a living emotional field where past experiences, defenses, and longings are continually enacted.
Yet I also believe therapy must stay grounded in reality — helping partners navigate the practical challenges of daily life: communication breakdowns, parenting stress, financial pressures, and the quiet resentments that build when these challenges go unspoken.
My Approach
My method blends psychoanalytic and object relations thinking with reality-oriented tools — to explore how unconscious dynamics shape conflicts, while building practical strategies for repair and reconnection.
In This Space, We Work Together To
- Notice the subtle ways love, fear, and disappointment are expressed — or defended against.
- Understand how past wounds are unconsciously replayed in present conflicts.
- Ground emotional exploration with reality checks — what is truly happening between you, versus what is feared or imagined.
- Build practical skills: how to repair after an argument, express needs without blame, and create shared agreements for daily life.
- Hold both the emotional truth and the reality of living together — because intimacy is both felt and built.
